Based on 30 kitchen-only remodels in the western suburbs between March 2025 and June 2026. Jobs that also remodeled other rooms are left out. Ranges are rounded and show what those homeowners paid, not a quote for your kitchen. Updated October 2026.
Cabinets are usually the biggest line. Stock, semi-custom and custom cabinets can differ by tens of thousands for the same kitchen.
Keeping the sink, range and fridge where they are saves plumbing, gas and electrical work. Removing a wall adds framing, and a load-bearing wall needs a beam and engineering.
Laminate, quartz and natural stone are priced very differently, and an island adds square footage, seams and often plumbing or electrical.
A gas range with a vented hood or a built-in fridge can add new gas, electrical or ductwork, on top of the appliance price.
Older kitchens often need new circuits for today's appliances, and sometimes a service upgrade.
Kitchen remodels that touch plumbing, gas, electrical or walls need a village permit and licensed trades, which are part of every real price.
These ranges tell you what to expect. A written quote tells you what yours costs: the work, the materials and who does each part, with no work started until you approve it. More about our kitchen remodeling · Permit guides
